Recovering After Hurricane Melissa

Devastation Struck  On October 28, 2025 , Jamaica experienced the most devastating Hurricane known as Melissa. As a teenager, I experienced Ivan but I was now ready to face a new Category 5 contender known as Melissa. Her only counterpart I knew about was " Wild Gilbert " which crippled the island in 1988.  When I heard that it would severely impact the Western part of the island , I went on an online prayer vigil on October 27, 2025 and I repented on behalf of my household. Melissa visited my home at approximately 1:30 pm in the afternoon on October 28 in all her rage and fury. She tried to take the awnings on the verandah but my family and I wrestled with her to lose her hold. By the grace of God when she passed, we escaped with only a pear tree uprooted and 1 of the awnings falling off which we were able to secure. Life During the Pandemic

  I celebrated my 30th birthday in March two days after the official case of COVID-19 was announced in Jamaica . In this picture you will see a woman that has been through a lot.  I weighed 1 pound at birth and I lost my twin sister. She only lived for a few hours. I am literally a miracle. From inception, God had a plan for my life.  I am now walking in my purpose and my faith keeps growing in the Lord. The devil tried to take my life when I was 23 years old. I was attacked by an armed robber who was waiting for me in my mother's garden as I usually arrived home at midnight. However, the Holy Spirit warned me before I entered the premises that there was danger and that's how I moved in caution.    I am writing this to tell you that God has a purpose for your life and He is not done with you. Travelling & Teaching in Cali, Colombia

  In 2013, I had the opportunity to teach English at a University in Cali, Colombia.  Cali, Colombia is known as the city of Salsa. Jamaicans love Salsa. I had a blast learning Salsa Choke and learning the various dance moves. This was my first time travelling and the experience was really exciting. It is an experience  that I will never forget.  I realized that Colombians and Jamaicans have a lot in common. We share the love for sports especially Track & Field and Football, we love to socialize and meet new people, our personalities are warm and friendly, we have a good taste in fashion and most of all we love great tasting food.  Learning a second language created the opportunities for me to travel and teach and to appreciate another culture. National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day- October 15

National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day offers a day of remembrance to parents, family and friends for pregnancy loss and infant death.  Pregnancy loss and infant death may include but are not limited to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS or the death of a new born.   I have a reason to reflect on this day as I went through pregnancy loss. A lot of mothers don't usually share their story. However, I believe it helps in the healing process.  Four years ago, I had to do a medical abortion because my son had a rare medical condition. I was four months pregnant at the time. It was the most devastating experience that I went through.  As I reflect on the journey, I just want to thank God for his grace and mercy as He kept me during my lowest.  I kept questioning and asking why it had to happen to me and I tried to replay all the ways that I could've had a healthy child. God Is Still In Control

                            Don't Give Up We are now in the month of October and then it will be December. Then it will be 2021. Time really passes by quickly.  👀 This year has been filled with its ups and downs. However, you can still accomplish anything that you set your mind to.  Remember that God is still in control and He never fails. His timing is perfect. 🙏 For the parents that are about to start Virtual school with your children, just know that you will get through this. You overcame all of the other hardships in your life. You will definitely conquer this journey. This will be a completely new experience for me as my daughter will be starting Kindergarten. 😶 My baby is growing up.  Just remember that there is a first time for every thing- relax and don't be too hard on yourself.
