How Christian Moms Can Pray for Their Children

As a Christian mom, one of the things you are mandated to do is to pray for your children. Prayer is a powerful way to partner with God to help you to raise your children. Praying for all areas of their lives is very important. You may be wondering how exactly can you pray for your children.  In this blog post, we'll explore practical ways Christian moms can pray for their children, along with some specific prayers that can help you feel connected to God and confident in your role as a mother. Why Is Praying for Your Children Important? Before we dive into the "how," it's important to understand why prayer matters. Prayer is more than just words we say to God. It is a way to communicate with Him, trust in His will, and seek His help. 7 Christian Parenting Tips for Caribbean Single Moms

7 Christian Parenting Tips for Caribbean Single Moms

Parenting isn’t easy, but with God’s grace and mercy, you can raise your children with love, gentle discipline, and wisdom. These parenting tips are shared to remind Christian moms that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. [Philippians 4:13]

Here are 7 parenting tips that I’ve learned through my journey as a Christian mother.

Parent Tip #1 - Speak Positive words

✨Speak life to them as your words have power. There is life and death in the power of the tongue. E.g. Say daily to them that they are loved and say what you love about them. I read Kenneth Copeland's The Power of the Tongue and it taught me the importance of using the tongue to create rather than destroy.

Parent Tip # 2- Learn to be patient

✨ Learn to be patient as children don't like to be rushed. Patience goes a long way. I read Parenting with Patience by SB Wade and it provides a practical and in-depth exploration into managing parental anger and turning it into nurturing bonds with your children.

Parent Tip #3 - Be mindful of your actions

✨ Be mindful of your actions- children are watching what you say and do. Be a good role model for them.

Parent Tip #4- Give your undivided attention

✨Put away the phone or other distractions and show children that you are listening to them when they speak. They appreciate it once they have our complete attention.

Parent Tip #5- Apologize when you're wrong

✨ Say you're sorry when you have made a mistake or accused them of something they never did. They will also follow your pattern and be quick to admit their faults.

Parent Tip #6 - Pray daily for your children

✨ Pray Daily for your children- pray for every area of their lives- their health, their interactions, God's protection etc. I have found the The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian to be very useful. Some of the prayers include Securing Protection from Harm, Identifying God-Given Gifts and Talents and Instilling the Desire to Learn.

Parent Tip #7 - Practice self control

✨ Practice self control- This is a fruit of the spirit that the Holy Spirit has to help you with. It is best for us to be slow to anger as children will believe we are angry with them and internalize it the wrong way.

In a nutshell, you can have a better relationship with your children by practicing these 7 parenting tips which are: speaking positive words, being patient, being mindful of your actions, giving your undivided attention ,apologizing when you're wrong , praying daily and practicing self control. By God's grace and mercy, you shall overcome.

Reset Your Year: Reflect, Recharge & Refocus for the Rest of 2025

God has been faithful. We are in a new year. We have overcome the worst and are ready to prepare for a new season.  Keep focusing on the new things that are coming to you. Keep hopeful knowing that God is the same as yesterday, today and forevermore. He will make a way for you where there seems to be no way. Continue to trust as your Provider, Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promiser Keeper. He won't fail you. Be encouraged and don't keep remembering the past but know that He is doing a new thing according to Isaiah 43:19 - Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The Roller Coaster Ride of Breastfeeding | Breastfeeding Journey| How to stop breastfeeding

There are a lot of mothers out there that would love to breastfeed their child. Breastfeeding is really a roller coaster ride. No one prepares you for it and shows you how to stop doing it. I am going to be sharing a little about my breastfeeding journey and how I eventually stopped breastfeeding. GOT MILK? When I gave birth to my daughter in 2017, no one prepared me for the journey that I would endure. My milk ducts were totally dried up and the nurses were telling me that I MUST breastfeed my daughter. However, after showing them all of my attempts to extract milk, they finally gave in and offered to give her some formula . I thought they would make her starve to death due to their strict breast feeding policy. I was finally able to breastfeed after 5 days. My flow of milk was also very slow and I had no choice but to supplement breastfeeding with formula. She was constantly crying after she was breastfed and I knew she was still hungry. When I left the hospital, the nurses had...

Reflect on the Previous Year| Make Plans for the New Year | Make Positive Changes

As we wave goodbye to the old year and welcome in a new one, it's an exciting time to reflect on the previous year and to give God thanks for the hurdles that you overcame. 🙏 The new year is a chance to start fresh, set goals, and make positive changes. If you're looking to make the most of the new year, the first step is to take some time to reflect on the past year and think about the lessons you have learnt and also remember to celebrate your wins.   What did you achieve? What goals did you set but not quite reach? What could you have done differently? Taking the time to consider these questions will give you a better sense of what you want to focus on for 2023. Once you've reflected on the past year, you can start making plans for the year ahead and ask the Lord to guide your steps and help you to be disciplined and consistent. Proverbs 16:9 says The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps .  Consider what you want to focus on and w...
